The UK Sex, Porn and Size Digital Report, 2017

As a leading men’s health clinic, we are actively engaged in research on sexual attitudes and how these relate to issues like erectile dysfunction, ejaculation disorders, couple’s intimacy and penis size anxiety among others.

Our latest survey has revealed some very interesting facts, summarised in the following infographic:

The survey was voluntarily undertaken online by 1000 men and 1000 women aged 18 and over from all regions of the country. Key findings included:

Satisfaction with Size

  • 36% of respondents were dissatisfied with their or their partner’s penis
  • The most satisfied region was the East Midlands, despite having the smallest – penises, with 71.4% reporting satisfaction with their or their partner’s penis
  • The least satisfied region was Wales, with 57.1% reporting satisfaction with their or their partner’s penis – despite having the largest reported penis size.

Porn Consumption

  • 81.9% of men in the UK watch porn
  • 59.4% of women watch porn
  • 57.6% of respondents watch porn with a partner
  • 24.1% of respondents watch porn once a week.

Sexual Partners

  • Men reported an average of 8.91 sexual partners in their lifetime
  • Women reported 6.83
  • Regionally, the North East came out on top again with an average of 9.8 partners
  • whereas responders from East Midlands reported only 6.8 sexual partners.

Frequency of Sexual Activity

  • 39.1% of respondents engage in sexual activity once a week
  • East Anglia topped the rankings with 42.2%
  • Wales came last with 33.3%
  • 38% of men reported having sex once a week with their partner
  • 40% of women reported having sex once a week with their partner
  • 9% of men have sex less than 4 times a year with their partner
  • 7.2% of women have sex less than 4 times a year with their partner
  • 6 % of men reported never having sex although they have a partner
  • 9% of women reported never having sex although they have a partner

Commenting on these results, spokespeople at International Andrology said, “The survey shows a significant social change in Britain.

“What is most apparent is that porn has become an established part of British culture. It is now available on demand: anyone using a smartphone, TV or laptop can access pornographic websites, watch movies and even reality TV shows.

“In 2015, 56% of adults reported watching porn in Britain. In just two years this statistic has shot up, with 81.9% of men and nearly 60% of women admitting to being regular consumers.

“Our research and patient experience also show that pleasure from pornography can leave a man feeling inadequate and depressed, and in extreme cases can kill his sex drive which in turn can lead to erectile dysfunction – a condition affecting 1 in 3 British men.”

Over the next few weeks, we will be further analysing the data and evaluating correlations across porn consumption, penis size satisfaction, sexual activity, relationship status and age.
