Penile Implant

Penile Implant Cost

Unfortunately, most insurance companies do not cover penile implant
and most of our patients are self-financing. If your insurance company covers the cost of treatment or diagnostic tests, then we would be glad to assist you with the refund claim or claim directly from your insurance company on your behalf.

Consultation and conservative treatment costs

Indicative prices of the costs are summarised below:

Consultation Costs

Indicative prices of the costs are summarised below:

Cost
Initial Consultation £250
Follow up Consultation £150
In office Ultrasound Scan £250
In office Blood Tests Starting from £190

Surgical Treatment Costs

Surgical treatment costs will depend on the type of operation, the type of implant used and the specific circumstances of each patient. Following your consultation , if you are an appropriate candidate for surgical treatment, an all inclusive cost will be quoted (including medical material, hospital fees, anaesthetist fees and surgeon’s fee and any follow up consultations).

The most significant cost of the penile implant operation is the cost of the medical device itself. Indicative prices for self-paying patients (patients can in many cases recover a significant part of their cost from their insurance companies) are provided below:

Device Cost All Inclusive Cost Starting From
Malleable Implant £1500 £6900
2-piece inflatable £3500 £8500
3-piece inflatable – Coloplast £5600 £12500
3-piece inflatable – AMS £6700 £15000

Although the cost of a penile implant might seem high one needs to remember that the implant is a final and permanent solution to ED and patients will not accrue any other costs (such as medication which can be in thousands per year) related to this health issue for the rest of their life.

Financing Options for Self-paying patients

We advise patients that prefer to use credit for their treatment one of the following options:

  • Credit Card

A lot of our patients find that the easiest and cheapest way to obtain financing is to apply for a 12-month interest-free credit card. This would allow you to schedule your repayment period as you prefer and also not pay interest for a few months.

  • Personal loan from your bank

Typically your bank will provide you with a personal loan with a long repayment period and low-interest rate and a fast decision. We understand that some patients might be reluctant to explain the reasons for the personal loan but the majority of the banks will not require extensive details other than saying that it is a medical loan.

  • Medical loan from a specialist financing company

If the above options are not attractive, then there are companies such as Freedom Finance (http://www.freedomfinance.co.uk/loans/medical-bills/) which broker specialist medical loans. They typically require 2 days for approval. In terms of process you would need to contact them directly, since we do not broker financing directly as it is a regulated activity.
